Wow, when panic mode sets in it’s amazing what happens to the body. Even though my panic episode only last about 15 seconds it had me in a state of, for lack of a better word, panic.
It was shortly after 5:00pm and it was mostly dark outside. My son had a headache and decide he would take a short nap on the couch to see if it would alleviate his pain. He asked me if I could turn off
all the lights and, of course, I did. I was playing Scrabble on my laptop and decided I could see well enough to use the mouse to continue playing. After looking at the screen for about 10 minutes I looked up at the cable box to see what time it was. I panicked because all I saw was black. I couldn’t see the digital clock on the cable box. After the 15 seconds I realized I had to look a little more to the left to be able to see it…BUT I couldn’t see it peripherally even though it was only about 2 feet away from where I was looking. I certainly hope it’s because I was looking at the bright computer screen and my eyes hadn’t adjusted to the darkness when I looked up. All I can say is I didn’t like that feeling one bit.
